It's weird to think that Friday at work, I was casually singing a Whitney song. Nothing out of the ordinary except it was "The Greatest Love of All." Not my favorite Whitney song, not the most popular, but it still popped in my head and I just started singing it. Little did I, or anyone, know what would transpire the next day.
My point of saying this is that, the fact that a Whitney song can but pop in your head out of nowhere is a testament to how far good music transcends. Anyone born before the 90s, and even some of those kids, know how great Whitney's music is, and always will be. Artists today aren't held in such great, high esteem as the amazing musical acts of the pasts like Whitney and Michael Jackson. My fear is that with these two, we have lost two of the greatest musical acts that this world will ever know.
R.I.P. Whitney Houston. Your talent, your career, a true inspiration.
